I took the ASVAB the other day and found it incredibly, which probably means I've gotten a good score. I already have Army recruiters all over me offering for the Army to pay my entire way through vet school... If I'll do a tour of duty... I don't know if it's worth it yet, but for pre-vet I am torn between Auburn, Tuskeegee, and Hiram... Leaning more towards Auburn and Hiram, but only Hiram because it's really easy for Hiram grads to get into Ohio State... What do you guys think?

Check this band out

Green Lemon is an up-and-coming nationally-touring jam band with a sound like no other. Their 2003 self-titled album is packed with tangy jams that give a nod to the classic traditions of funk, rock and reggae while adding a new age twist.

Just since January 2005, Green Lemon has been named the "New Home Grown Band of 2004" by Leeway's Home Grown Music Network; one of the "Top Bands to See Live in 2005" by JamBase.com; "Independent Artist of 2004" by Hapi Skratch Entertainment; and "New Groove of the Month" by Jambands.com. In July it was announced that the band was one of 13 winners of the Relix Magazine Jam Off contest to be featured on a compilation CD for national distribution. And Relix Magazine will feature Green Lemon in a winner's showcase concert in New York City in September.

When South Carolina's MetroBeat Magazine caught up with this relentlessly touring band in January, they they found that, "Green Lemon is hardly your typical jam band. Transcending the usual neo-hippie mix of Grateful Dead, Phish and String Cheese Incident-inspired improvisation, the Colorado-based band delivers a wildly eclectic sound that broadly expands the territory a jam band can cover without sacrificing its core."

Relix Magazine said, "The band has an almost hypnotic, groove-based sound that flits across genres with reckless abandon and a sense of fun highlighted by the often-whimsical lyrics."

If you're not familiar with this awesome band, do yourself a favor and check out their sound at http://www.greenlemonband.com or http://www.myspace.com/greenlemon. You can join their tribe at http://tribes.tribe.net/greenlemonheads.

Is anyone else excited about the new school year? I am torn between dyeing my hair blue and orange like I do every November out of my love for Auburn and just dyeing it blue. It isn’t a matter of which is less flashy; during the school year, I dye my hair a different color every month and then dye it black once before summer to allow for growth and regeneration of the follicles. It’s usually very bright, most often some kind of purple or green. I want to know what would be more thought-provoking in Bulldog country.

Honestly, I don’t know why I love Alabama so much as I do. I moved from Birmingham to Georgia halfway through my fifth grade year, and now I’m a high school junior. Before I moved I never exercised any of my talents, especially not my academic ones. I think the only thing I’m grateful for from Alabama schooling is the diversity at EPIC Elementary. I was always the geek and had no friends. I didn’t take care of myself, but much of this can be attributed to just being a child.

Granted, as a “Goth” girl in a small Georgia town I am much more of an outsider now and am feared by many without due cause, I am looked up to by everyone and am constantly asked for hair and fashion advice. The cheerleaders just can’t figure out why when they bleach their hair every month they end up with straw and why when I bleach my hair every month, put color in it twice (every two weeks, it’s temporary), and process it WITH HEAT each time I put color in it I end up with soft, silky hair. It’s a trade secret. Biology’s more my thing, though.

I appreciate school so much more now, even though we now have Abbe Boring, who I’m sure you know. In my school, we take eight classes every year with an average of three being elective. All of my classes are Pre-AP and AP (honors), and I only have time for one elective every year, which means I have one semester of all academics. My elective is art, and I need four Arts to graduate. Now I paint and quilt and have had paintings published. This year, I have two extra classes, and next year I will have four extra. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love school now. I am the fourth in my class and am constantly employed by teachers and students to do paintings, sew things, or make stuffed animals.

Why is it then, that my first choice for a college was Auburn until I learned that not only were they an IAMS lab, but they also didn’t offer small animal exotics veterinary training? Why is it I would die before I went to a Georgia college, even though it was Georgia that got me hooked on school and it’s Georgia that will give me a 100% free ride through all eight years of college? Why is it that when I get out of grad school, I want to purchase my childhood home on Tampa Lane just down the street from Huffman High, even though it is a small home and I could get so much more if I stayed in Georgia? Why is it that if that home’s occupied, I either want the house down the street with the family plot in the back or an old factory/shop in the city to restore? Why is it I come to Sloss every year, even though it’s far from scary?

Why do I love Alabama so much, even though I hate the South and should, to everyone’s wishes and wh

Obviously, I'm not going to the school because their exotic small animals veterinary program, if it exists at all, blows ass. This is really bad because I wanted a chance to play with their golden eagle. Anyway, this means I can't contribute much academically to this tribe. Sportswise, I'm only a fan of football. When football season rolls around, I'll be able to contribute quite a bit, especially on the Iron Bowl. If you have anything to contribute or any people to recruit, please do so. In the meantime, I'll do what I can. I did not even realize that two new members had joined. Welcome. Contribute what you can.
